Designed with a 75% compact layout, it offers a practical balance between space‑saving design and everyday functionality. Whether you are gaming, working, studying, or browsing, this keyboard provides a reliable typing experience.
One of its main highlights is the AJAZZ Sea Salt Linear Switch, which delivers smooth and consistent keypresses. Combined with a gasket‑mounted structure, the keyboard offers a cushioned typing feel that makes extended use more enjoyable. Its PBT keycaps provide a durable surface, while 1.6 million RGB backlighting adds colorful illumination to your setup.
The AJAZZ AK820 also supports hot‑swappable switches, allowing users to customize their keyboard by replacing compatible switches without soldering. With USB‑C wired connectivity, it is a practical choice for users who prefer a direct and dependable connection.
75% Compact Keyboard Layout
The AJAZZ AK820 features a 75% compact layout designed to save desk space without removing the essential functionality required for everyday computing.
Its compact arrangement keeps frequently used keys accessible while reducing the keyboard's overall footprint compared with a traditional full‑size keyboard. This gives users more room for mouse movement, making it especially useful for gaming desks and smaller workspaces.
The layout is suitable for different activities, including typing documents, coding, browsing, studying, and playing games. Its practical design makes it a convenient option for both home and office setups.
AJAZZ Sea Salt Linear Switches
The keyboard comes equipped with AJAZZ Sea Salt Linear Switches, designed to provide smooth and consistent keystrokes. Unlike tactile or clicky switches, linear switches offer a straightforward pressing motion without a noticeable tactile bump.
The Sea Salt Switch has an initial operating force of approximately 40g, with a total travel distance of approximately 3.5mm. This makes it a suitable option for users who prefer a medium‑light linear switch feel.
These switches are useful for both gaming and everyday typing, providing a consistent keypress experience for repeated actions, document writing, and regular computer tasks.
1.6 Million RGB Backlighting
The AJAZZ AK820 features 1.6 million RGB backlighting to give your keyboard setup a colorful and modern appearance.
RGB illumination can enhance the overall look of a gaming desk and make the keyboard more visually appealing in dimly lit environments. The south‑facing LED orientation is another feature of this keyboard, helping provide a lighting arrangement designed with keycap compatibility in mind.
Whether you prefer a colorful gaming setup or a clean desktop appearance, the RGB backlighting adds an attractive finishing touch.
Gasket‑Mounted Design
The gasket‑mounted construction is an important feature of the AJAZZ AK820. This design uses cushioning materials within the keyboard structure to create a softer and more flexible typing experience.
Compared with some traditional rigid keyboard constructions, a gasket‑mounted design can help reduce harshness and vibration during keypresses. It also contributes to a more refined typing feel.
For users who spend long hours typing, the cushioned construction can make everyday keyboard use more comfortable.
Durable PBT Keycaps
The AJAZZ AK820 comes with PBT keycaps in an OEM profile. PBT is a popular keycap material among mechanical keyboard enthusiasts because of its durability and resistance to everyday wear.
Compared with many standard ABS keycaps, PBT keycaps generally maintain their texture better over time and are less prone to developing a shiny appearance from frequent use.
The OEM profile provides a familiar key shape and height, making the keyboard comfortable for regular typing, gaming, and productivity tasks.
Hot‑Swappable Switch Support
The hot‑swappable design allows users to replace compatible mechanical switches without soldering. This feature is particularly useful for people who enjoy customizing their keyboard or experimenting with different switch types.
If you want to change the typing feel in the future, you can remove compatible switches and install replacements using the appropriate switch puller.
This flexibility makes the AJAZZ AK820 appealing to both beginners exploring mechanical keyboards and enthusiasts who enjoy personalizing their setup. Check the supported switch pin configuration before purchasing replacement switches.
USB‑C Wired Connectivity
The AJAZZ AK820 uses USB‑C wired connectivity, providing a simple and convenient way to connect the keyboard to a compatible computer or laptop.
A wired connection does not require wireless pairing or battery charging. It is a practical choice for users who prefer a direct connection for everyday typing and gaming.
Connect the compatible USB‑C cable and start using the keyboard with your desktop setup.
